Hire of Display Resources

Ricefield has a collection of resource materials that can be used to provide an insight into Chinese culture. These are excellent visual resources for children and young people. (Please note that these resources are for display purposes only.)

The range of display materials available include:

• Display boards introducing festivals, celebrations and customs
• Traditional Chinese costumes and gowns
• Kites
• Lanterns
• Large fans
• Props for the Chinese Dragon dance
• Audio CDs of Chinese music

Hire charges are dependent on the number of resources required and the duration of the loan. Due to the large size of many of the resources, we regret that at this stage we are unable to deliver outwith the Glasgow area.

Library

Ricefield has a growing library of books and DVDs relating to Chinese arts and culture (in both English and Chinese), which you are welcome to browse through for research or interest purposes.

If you are a Friend of Ricefield, you may borrow resources from the library for a limited period.

We are always happy to welcome donations to our collection!

Book-swapping

You can swap your East Asia related books, CDs and DVDs in Ricefield free of charge!

Music and Performing Arts Events

We can facilitate a selection of performances and activities involving Chinese performers and artists to promote cultural awareness, and can put you in touch with other organisations, groups and agencies specialising in Chinese music and performing arts.
