Volunteering Opportunities

Interested in Chinese art and culture? Think about volunteering for Ricefield!

As a small charitable organisation, volunteers are invaluable to every aspect of Ricefield’s work, and we appreciate all the skills and experience you have to offer. We are always seeking volunteers to help out with exhibition hanging and invigilation, administration, fund raising, marketing, workshop facilitation and events.

Voluntary positions at Ricefield do not necessarily lead directly into paid employment, but can offer crucial work experience and an in-depth introduction to work in the voluntary arts.

Voluntary positions can vary in length and level of involvement. Anyone can apply, from school leavers and university students, to those returning to the workplace or newly arrived in the UK. We will give you an induction and support throughout your time as a volunteer.

Join the Friends of Ricefield

The Friends of Ricefield is a group of people who support the art centre in its goals to support and promote Chinese arts and culture in Scotland. Your subscription fee will go directly into Ricefield’s operating costs, needed to continue and to expand the centre’s activities and programmes.
Friends’ benefits include:

• Invitations to private previews of new exhibitions
• Invitations to networking events
• 20% discount on work purchased at exhibitions
• 10% discount on items purchased in from the gallery’s souvenir goods
• Acknowledgement in all Ricefield publications and website (optional)

Membership is open to all individuals and organisations declaring support for the objectives of Ricefield Arts and Cultural Centre.

Individuals -   £20 per year
Couples -       £35 per year
Students -      £10 per year

Giving to Ricefield

Fundraised income is essential to Ricefield. We rely on grant funding and the income generated through workshops, classes, gallery sales and events, to cover our operational and arts development costs, and welcome additional income to support the vital activities that make Ricefield a centre of excellence and learning.

Any gift is welcome and makes an enormous difference to what we can do.
